Who we are

Trendometer ("we", "us") operates the Trendometer mobile application for Android, available on Google Play. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it is used. This policy applies to the mobile app only; for the website, see our Website Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

The Trendometer mobile app has no user accounts and no login. We do not collect your name, email address, Discord user ID, or any message content.

• Analytics data — the app uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics such as app open events, screens viewed, app version, device and operating system type, and coarse country region. This data is not linked to your identity.
• Advertising — the app may display an advertisement slot loaded from our servers. No personal data is sent to advertising providers, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers beyond Firebase.
• On-device storage — the app caches trending chart data and remembers your selected country and tab preferences locally on your device. This information never leaves your device and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

Permissions

• Internet — required to load trending charts, advertisements, and YouTube videos.
• Notifications — used only for local reminders about songs or charts you have chosen to follow. We never send promotional or spam notifications.
• Motion sensors — used only to detect device orientation for the app layout.

Content sources

Trending chart data is fetched from our backend servers. Music videos are played through the official YouTube embedded player; your use of the embedded player is also governed by YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not collect contacts, photos, files, or any other personal content from your device.

Data retention and deletion

Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google Firebase subject to Google's retention controls. All on-device data is stored only locally and is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. You may opt out of analytics at any time through your device's Google settings or by deleting the app.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
